Memorising and acting upon the Sunnah is a way to honour the Sunnah. So one should take the smaller books, study them and eventually reach the bigger ones.

For example, one should start with the Forty Ahadeeth of Imaam an-Nawawee then move onto ‘Umdat al-Ahkaam, study them, understand them and act upon them so that one becomes closer to Allaah, the Most High.
