Kitaab al-Emaan: al-Isitinhaa in al-Emaan (Part 4)
Nawawi talks about the difference of opinion about saying,
“I am a Mu’min Inshallah”:
-Some
said its permitted, as it removes self-praise, it is a form of asking for
Barakah from Allaah and returns all future events to Allaah, as he doesn’t know
in what state he will die.
-Some
said its not permitted as it implies doubt and this is Kufr.
Nawawi said that both parties have an argument as was stated
by al-Awzaa’ee, thus one can chose either.
By extension, some even said one must say Inshallah when
affirming Kufr for people, but Nawawi states that this isn’t the correct
opinion.
